Case:
Background & Challenge
A customer in the heavy industry sector was experiencing problems with a worn-out silo filter installed on a coal receiving silo. The abrasive nature of the coal handling process had caused significant wear on the internal surfaces of the filter, affecting both equipment lifespan and operational reliability.
The customer required a durable filtration solution with a strong focus on wear resistance and long-term performance in this demanding application.
PF System’s Solution
PF System evaluated the application and designed a new silo filtration system specifically adapted for coal handling and severe wear conditions.
To minimize future wear, all gas-contacting components were manufactured in Hardox® 450, a highly wear-resistant steel designed for demanding industrial environments. This robust construction ensures extended service life even under continuous exposure to abrasive materials such as coal.
The filtration system was designed for an airflow capacity of 2,000 m³/h and tailored to the operating conditions of the receiving silo.
