Cyclone filter BHFR

Case:

Background & Challenge

The customer experienced recurring issues with an existing filtration system that suffered from rapid wear and frequent filter blockage due to extremely high dust concentrations within the process. The heavy dust loading resulted in increased maintenance requirements, reduced filter media lifetime, and an elevated risk of unplanned downtime.

The objective was to develop a robust filtration solution capable of handling the high dust loads while maximizing filter media service life.

PF System’s Solution

Following a detailed process evaluation, PF System recommended a cyclone filter solution, combining a cyclone separator and a bag filter within a single unit.

By removing the majority of the dust in the cyclone section before the air reaches the filter bags, the load on the filter media is significantly reduced. This approach extends filter life, lowers pressure drop, and minimizes maintenance requirements.

To withstand the abrasive nature of the application, the inlet section was equipped with replaceable wear plates manufactured from hardened steel. The design allows wear components to be replaced quickly and cost-effectively without major modifications to the system.

Results

  • Significantly reduced load on the filter media.
  • Extended filter bag lifetime.
  • Fewer process interruptions and reduced maintenance costs.
  • Efficient dust separation at extremely high dust concentrations.
  • Reduced wear on critical system components.
  • Replaceable wear plates simplifying future maintenance.
  • Reliable and stable filtration performance in demanding applications.

Customer Value

By combining cyclone separation and bag filtration in a single system, PF System delivered a solution capable of handling extreme dust loads while substantially increasing filter media lifetime.

The result was lower operating costs, reduced maintenance requirements, and a more reliable process with improved long-term availability and performance.
