Capacity increase Asphalt

Case:

Background & Challenge

An asphalt plant required increased production capacity, but the existing filtration system had already reached its maximum operating capacity. To support the planned production increase, the filtration system and air handling equipment needed to be upgraded without compromising operational reliability.

The customer was looking for a solution that would increase both airflow and filtration capacity while maximizing the value of the existing installation.

PF System’s Solution

PF System carried out a comprehensive upgrade of the existing filter system to meet the new production requirements.

The filter area was expanded from 549 m² to 791 m², significantly increasing the system’s dust collection capacity. At the same time, the airflow capacity was increased from 50,000 m³/h to 65,000 m³/h.

The project also included replacement of the main process fan and modifications to the associated ductwork to ensure optimal airflow throughout the entire system.

Results

  • Filter area increased from 549 m² to 791 m².
  • Airflow capacity increased from 50,000 m³/h to 65,000 m³/h.
  • Enabled increased production capacity without installing a completely new filtration system.
  • Improved filtration performance under higher operating loads.
  • New main fan designed for the upgraded airflow requirements.
  • Optimized ducting system for efficient air transport.
  • Extended service life of the existing filtration plant.

Customer Value

By upgrading and rebuilding the existing filter system, the customer was able to increase production capacity in a highly cost-effective manner while avoiding the expense of a completely new installation.

The solution delivered higher throughput, improved operational reliability, and a future-ready filtration system capable of supporting continued growth while maximizing the value of existing assets.
